The Attenborough Family Traveling Revival Band
A Treatise

In the final months of the 20th century, Sheldon Attenborough, the grower of Alaska’s most potent pot, is trying to get out of the drug business. He’s afraid his product is getting into the hands of kids, so amidst threats from rival redneck drug dealers and lamentations from his wife, Helen, who is prophetically afraid of Y2K, he embarks on one final deal alongside his best friend and business partner, the local pastor, Bruce.

Sheldon’s intentions are derailed by his talented children—Erica, the artsy rebel and Jimmy, the obsessively religious—when they steal a good portion of his product and sell it to local high school kids. His plans are further undermined by dangerous explosives in the hands of his rivals, unfortunate Alaskan animal encounters, runaway family members, and unreliable clergymen, all of which force the Attenboroughs to hit the road as the Attenborough Family Traveling Revival Band.

With a backdrop of Southcentral Alaska in its glorious autumn and deep winter beauty, this phantasmagoric tale climaxes at what for some, really was the end of the world: Y2K.
